Pitteuchar Stenton & Finglassie
Pitteuchar
A southeastern suburb (or precinct) of Glenrothes in Fife, Pitteuchar is situated to the north of the Lochty Burn. Before the New Town of Glenrothes was built in the 1950s, two farms, Wester and Easter Pitteuchar, occupied this area.
Fife College (which began as Glenrothes Technical College), and the Glamis Centre (with a community centre and shops) are in Pitteuchar. There are two primary schools: Pitteuchar West and Pitteuchar East.
For the most part, the roads take their names from Scottish castles (Altyre, Ardross, Balnagowan, Beaufort, Blair, Braemar, Cluny, Colliston, Delgatie, Duart, Dunbeath, Dunstaffnage, Fingask, Glamis, Glendevon, Inveraray, Lovat, Megginch, Myres, Skibo, Tantallon and Wemyss). Crystal's Arena (an ice rink, bowling, snooker and entertainment complex) opened here in 1985 but closed in 1993 and was replaced by a housing development named Crystal Gait.
